Our Recommendations for Nov. 27 - Dec. 3:
It's the opening of Christmas tree season! Search for the perfect Christmas tree at Santa's Trees, a 12-acre, dog friendly, no frills, choose and cut tree farm with free hot cider, a bonfire and great views.
Garlock Christmas Tree Farm is open Thursday-Sunday, and kids will enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride and a visit with the farm animals.
Come meet Santa! Join the Larson family for their Holiday Open House on December 2 & 3, from 11am-3pm. Parents will enjoy wine tasting at Larson Family Winery, and the kids can meet Santa, and the winery sheeps! Enjoy live music and delicious appetizers. Great gift items on sale, as well.
Meander the rose gardens and shop the Garden Store at Garden Valley Ranch on Saturdays & Sundays (10am-4pm), or by appt. On Dec. 3 (1:30-4:30pm) join a wreath making class with guest designer Marion Moss Floral Design ($85 includes materials; RSVP Required).
On Dec. 2 & 3, Full Bloom Flower will be selling wreaths & tinctures among other artists at The Weaving Studio for Holiday on Florence Ave in Sebastopol. Beverage & appetizers served while you shop! And afterwards, take a stroll down one of Sonoma County's most famous streets to view the sculpture art by Patrick Amiot.
At LaLa's Jam Bar, shop for great gifts Thursdays-Sundays. Join a Wreath Making Demo with Ellyn Pelikan, 11am to 1pm on Friday, Dec. 1st. (RSVP; $55).
Visit Laguna Farm for "Gifts from the farm!" Create your own gift basket with farm fresh ingredients. They have all of the supplies for you to create lovely gifts, fresh from the source. Available Tuesdays & Thursdays up until Christmas, from 1-7pm.
Glenhill Farm & Gardens is fun for the whole family. Feed the lambs, and meet the goats, horses and the pig named Charlotte. Shop the farmstand for handmade gifts and freshly harvested produce and eggs. Plus, see the Howarth Park train.
On Saturdays, from 12 to 5pm, taste small-batch fermented ciders from local organic apples at Tilted Shed Ciderworks. Complimentary cider tasting for two (21+) with a nonperishable food donation for Redwood Empire Food Bank. Receive 10% off the purchase of any 6 bottles.
Backyard is a seasonal, sustainable restaurant featuring Sonoma County's bounty. The restaurant closed its doors to the public for many days during the wildfires in order to feed thousands of evacuees and first responders. We encourage you to show them some love by dining at Backyard and enjoying their meticulously sourced and creative menu. Gift cards make great stocking stuffers, too!
Visit the unique gift shop at Lynn's Lavender set amongst the redwoods and grape vines in Occidental. At the little shop, made of old wooden doors, you will find lavender products, plants and home goods. Make your own lavender sachet to take home from 2:00-3:00pm ($5) every Saturday & Sunday.
Take a garden tour at Cumbria Garden on Saturdays and learn about organic growing practices and ''super compost''. Their farmstand will be open. All proceeds from garden produce is donated to local charities. And surplus produce is donated to local food banks.
