If you choose to make meat part of your farm-fresh holidays, you have a lot of choices! Note that due to much smaller gatherings due to the pandemic, smaller cuts of meat and turkeys are in high demand so order as soon as possible.

Liberty Duck: Select from a menu of farm-raised duck product, including whole duck, duck breasts, duck legs, sausage, and more. Panizzera Meat Co.: Holiday offerings include their special dry-aged prime ribs, aged in their Himalayan salt dry age room. Or choose from other locally grown, pastured beef, pork, poultry, and sausages for your holiday table. Takeout & Outdoor Dining

Even though you can't dine in at restaurants this year, you can order ready-to-serve meals, sides, breads, and desserts at local farm-to-your-table eateries, creameries, and bakeries. Or enjoy a cozy meal at one of the outdoor dining patios of our local farm-to-table restaurants. And if can, please tip well, even if you order takeout. The independent restaurant industry is suffering due to pandemic restrictions, and could use your support now more than ever!

MEALS 

the girl & the fig: Choose from roasted turkey breast, cedar-plank salmon, or a wild mushroom and sunchoke ragout for the entree, plus sides, dessert including apple and pumpkin pies, drinks, and a curated wine pack. Serves four, or two with leftovers. John Ash & Co.: This fine dining restaurant at Vintners Resort offers meal to go, but you can also reserve a multicourse Thanksgiving dinner to enjoy at their patio. Dishes include French onion soup highlighting Joe Matos cheese, endive salad featuring Valley Ford Creamery cheese, Liberty Duck breast pallairds, and heritage turkey and desserts. The Spinster Sisters: Choose from appetizers, sides, entrees (including smoked turkey, wild mushroom and fennel stuffing, and much more), and desserts, and special wine pairings. Union Hotel Occidental: The kitchens are busy preparing for holiday festivities at the Occidental Union Hotel! Enjoy a delightful Wednesday Thanksgiving dinner offered at the Union under the stars or via takeout (4 to 8 pm). DESSERTS & BREADS

Mom's Apple Pie: The Thanksgiving menu will of course include pumpkin and pecan pies. Order in advance by calling (707) 823-8330 or via their new online store, or just drop by the shop. Curbside pickup also available. Mom's will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Nightingale Breads: Choose from cranberry orange pistachio cake, spiced pecan raisin loaf, potato rosemary rolls, baguettes, focaccia, chocolate thimble cakes, and more. Holiday Recipe Ideas

Festive Holiday Drinks

You'll find no shortage of festive drinks for the holidays. From locally grown and made apple juice to a range of fine wines, spirits, beer, and cider, there's something for everyone this season. Our featured beverage for Thanksgiving is this hot mulled cider by Manzana Products, the last apple processor in Sonoma County, which features their North Coast organic apple cider.

MULLED CIDER

North Coast Hot Mulled Cider

  • 1 (64 oz) bottle North Coast organic apple juice or cider
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 whole allspice berries
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • peel from 1/2 orange
  • 1 (1-inch finger) freshly sliced ginger
  • 2 whole star anise
  • Optional garnish: 8 cinnamon sticks, 8 star anise, sliced apple
Combine all ingredient in a pot and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain and label into 8 glasses, adding garnish if desired.
