$150 – $350

Coming off of a year of digital learning, our youth right now needs some real-life education—and time to get their hands dirty and feel the sun on their faces!
We are thrilled to be offering our first ever Garden Summer Camp! School Garden Network has long supported teachers and schools at all angles, and we are eager to bring together a stellar team of educators to create a totally unique and exceptional program to engage our youth during the summer months.
For the month of July, students (3rd – 6th graders) can participate in 4 weekly sessions of day camp, Monday through Friday 9am-3pm at Salmon Creek School Garden, one of California’s largest and most well established school garden sites. This amazing outdoor setting will provide a plethora of hands-on learning activities. Campers will spend their week immersed in the delights of a working garden. They will connect with nature, learn to cook and eat from the garden, explore native habitats and cultures, create arts and craft, make new friends and spend their summer days outdoors.
Salmon Creek School Garden is located in the Freestone Valley in Occidental, the 1 1/2 acre garden is a part of a 56 acre school campus blessed with a diverse coastal ecosystem containing a redwood forest, Native grasslands, wetlands, Salmon Creek, and rich soil that supports the acre garden.
