Happy Apples Farm & PQR Ranch

Happy Apples Farm/PQR Ranch is a small family farm which grows head trained Zinfandel and more than 20 different types of apples on full sized, dry farmed trees. We farm organically with the help of borrowed sheep, a ranch dog, 2 strong boys, one mom and sometimes geese and chickens. Our total farming acreage is 5 acres: 1 acre of redwoods in a picnic grove, 2 acres of grapes, 2 acres of apples. Our apples ripen from August through late October. Self-serve farmstand open during season. Calling ahead is welcome because sometimes we have an abundance of fruit. Sometimes it goes very quickly. Varieties include Red Gravenstein, Surprise, Sparkle, Pink Permains, Mac Mystery, Courtlands, Crispin, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Winter Banana, and finally Romes. We have lots of drops for cider, if anyone wants to load up the back of a truck and have some fun with fermentations in their garage/ barn.

PQR ( Por Qué Ranch) is 5 acres of Russian River Valley farming bliss. Located on Westside Road, it is one of the only ranches that grows

So many Happy Apples: perfect for crunching, slicing, juicing, saucing, making into pies, crumbles, cakes and ciders.

Family farm crew: Wild Boys, Wild Boys II and Ranch dog, Cal.

Head trained, dry farmed, old clone Zinfandel. Delicious for wine, juice, and eating fresh off the vine.

A rare sign on Westside Road!

Happiness is round...or ovalish or red or green or gold. As long as it is an apple, it is happiness in your hand.

Pinks, goldens, reds, greens, crunchies, tarts, sweets, bolds...
